Our story springs to life on the edge of the Black Forest in 1683. Ever since we have been specialists in metal durables such as nails, Farm Machinery, Bicycles and eventually switching our focus to ovens in 1931. Every one of our pieces is conceived, designed and engineered, not just to the highest standards but to the Gaggenau standard.
In 1926, Westye F. Bakke, his wife Mary and their two children, Bud and Elaine, moved to Madison, Wisconsin to start a new life. It was there, in the basement of his home, that Bakke built his first freestanding freezer, an invention that kick-started a series of pioneering creations and triggered the birth of the Sub-Zero Freezer Company.
Much has changed since Carl Neff made his first oven in 1877. People all over the world have rolled up their sleeves and shared in the joys and chores of cooking. Global ingredients have become local ingredients. And from humble beginnings, the kitchen has grown in stature, to become the centrepiece of the home - often with a NEFF oven right at its heart.
